The Government of Uganda has taken a significant step towards transforming youth well-being by committing to the implementation of the Icelandic Prevention Model. In partnership with Planet Youth, this groundbreaking initiative aims to reach 10 million people across 18 districts. This ambitious pilot project, which is currently in the funding phase, marks a milestone in global efforts to prioritize primary prevention. With a signed contract in place, the project is set to begin early in the new year, focusing initially on building the infrastructure required to support communities and villages participating in this transformative effort. The foundation for success has already been laid through a series of workshops with key stakeholders. These sessions have fostered collaboration and provided valuable insights to guide the project’s development.
